    AAA coming to MTV2

    MTV2 is listing a Lucha series as debuting this May for their Spring programming block on the network. Their official blurb reads:

    "Lucha Libre" is the action-packed wrestling phenomenon from Mexico, with the beloved masked Luchadores, who inspired the blockbuster hit Jack Black movie "Nacho Libre." MTV2 will tailor the pop culture classic adding its own MTV
    flair to this historically highly rated series, and bringing it to the US for the first time ever in English.


    The May debut of "Lucha Libre" on MTV will be repackaged AAA footage with American commentary. The project is a joint venture between MTV2 and MTV Tres, according to those close to the project.

    Hope it does well.

    Well, I'm all for Lucha getting US exposure. With that said, I hear AAA is abysmal right now. So....should be interesting I guess.

    Me too, but given that the article says "repackaged" AAA footage," I fear this could be more of a joke promotion akin to WSX than a legitimate attempt at getting AAA as we know it some American exposure.

    I'm curious to see this. I occasionally watch AAA on Saturdays, even though I speak no Spanish. Still, some different wrestling on TV is good. Is Teddy still down there pissing people off, or did they finally kick him out of the country?

    From what I read, I think he might have gotten kick out a few months back, haven't seen him in results for a few months now. Who knows how far back the material they will be showing, it possible that they will show some of his matches still.

    I hope MTV edits the crowd shots better than AAA does. AAA uses the same 5 or 6 stock shots of the crowd over and over again.

    I AGree with Swarles I watched the first and final season again last night it was fun. AAA should be great for MTV hope i can watch it online.

    The only way I would watch this, get Chris Bosh to come in as a racist heel, and just go punchmaster on everyone's junk (and force MTV to produce a full length Lion Cock III).
